Monsanto beats Del’s suit. on PCB contamination

By Leslie A. Pappas (July 11, 2022, 5:12 p.m. EDT) — A Delaware trial court on Monday dismissed the state’s lawsuit alleging that Monsanto Co. knew for decades that it produced toxic chemicals that were contaminating Delaware waterways, finding the claims as stated were not valid under state law.

Delaware Superior Court Judge Mary M. Johnston granted Monsanto’s motion to dismiss the lawsuit against the company and two of its spin-off companies, Solutia Inc. and Pharmacia LLC, for damages related to the release of polychlorinated biphenyls, or PCBs.
