Senator Murkowski announces federal grants to Alaska

U.S. Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), a senior member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, announced the following grants to Alaskan organizations, tribal entities and communities. The grants also include funding announced for Alaska by the Infrastructure Investment and Employment Act$395,000 to Wrangell Public School District, $68.7 million to Port of Alaska, $10.1 million to Port of Adak, $5.3 million to Sand Point Floating Dock , $28.2 million for Prince William Sound Ferry Terminals (Cordova, Tatitlek and Chenega) and $30.3 million for the Yukon-Koyukuk Census Area for Federal Broadband.

Statewide

  • Alaska – Statewide: $28.2 million to the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Prince William Sound Economic Development District for the Port Infrastructure Development Program.
  • Alaska – Statewide: $3 million to the Alaska Railroad Corporation from the Federal Emergency Management Agency of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security for permanent repairs to the Alaska Railroad at Mile 52.24 following a major disaster.
  • Alaska – Statewide: $324,237 to the State of Alaska from the United States Department of the Treasury for the Emergency Rental Assistance Program.
  • Alaska – Statewide: $30.3 million to the United States Department of Agriculture’s Yukon-Koyukuk Census Area for the Fiber-to-the-Premises ReConnect program.

central south

  • Anchoring: $7.2 million to the Municipality of Anchorage from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency for emergency protective services.
  • Anchoring: $68.7 million to the Municipality of Anchorage from the U.S. Department of Transportation for the Port of Alaska Port Infrastructure Development Program to reconfigure and realign the shoreline in the area.
  • Anchoring: $2.4 million to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Head Start program for Kids’ Corps Inc.
  • Eklutna: $5,000 to the U.S. Treasury Department’s Eklutna Native Village for the Emergency Rental Assistance Program.

South East

  • Hate : $1.2 million to the Borough of Haines from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency for permanent repairs to Porcupine Trail Road following severe storm damage.
  • Juneau: $237,408 to the Alaska Department of Health and Human Services of the United States Department of Health and Human Services for maternal and child health services.
  • Wrangell: $395,000 to Wrangell Public School District from the Environmental Protection Agency for the Clean School Bus program.

South West and West

  • Addac: $10.1 million to the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Aleut Corporation Port Infrastructure Development Program to perform repairs and updates to the main supply wharf.
  • Point of sand: $5.3 million to the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Sand Point Floating Dock project for the Port Infrastructure Development Program to install a new floating dock.
